Representatives from four different partners of the project\u00a0(NTUA, MarineTraffic, HCMR, ISMB) attended the event. All the presentations took place on the second day of the EBDVF, during Big Data Value PPP parallel networking sessions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/askounis_EBDVF.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-447\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/askounis_EBDVF-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"860\" height=\"574\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/askounis_EBDVF-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/askounis_EBDVF-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/askounis_EBDVF-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/askounis_EBDVF-225x150.jpg 225w, http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/askounis_EBDVF-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 860px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the \u201cRole of big data in the digitalization of the transport industry\u201d session on behalf of NTUA, BigDataOcean project\u2019s coordinator Prof. Dimitris Askounis highlighted the challenges and the objectives of the project and gave an overview of the designed architecture and the provisioned services of the project. In addition, the coordinator briefly described BigDataOcean\u2019s pilot cases, sharing to the public the challenges, the BigDataOcean methodology and the expected benefits for the transport industry for each of them.<\/p>\n<p>During the \u201cData sharing and data integration\u201d session Spyros Mouzakitis (NTUA) presented in depth how BigDataOcean\u2019s services are designed to take advantage of multiple heterogeneous data sources and link them together into a process in order to tackle the pilots&#8217; use cases\u2019 challenges.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Konstantinos Chatzikokolakis from MarineTraffic discussed in the \u201cBig Data Entrepreneurship\u201d panel how to promote the adoption of big data entrepreneurship and facilitate SME\u2019s and startup business growth in Big Data Europe.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/20171020_151000.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-450\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/20171020_151000-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"860\" height=\"574\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/20171020_151000-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/20171020_151000-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/20171020_151000-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/20171020_151000-225x150.jpg 225w, http:\/\/www.bigdataocean.eu\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/20171020_151000-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 860px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the project\u2019s booth the BigDataOcean partners had the opportunity to discuss the benefits of using the platform with numerous stakeholders that stopped by during the three days of the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week BigDataOcean made its presence felt at the European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) at Versailles, France, through its booth and three presentations given during the event\u2019s sessions.
